Flirty Flamingo

Pop of Paradise, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, #stampinbj, #bjpeters, #popofparadiseThis flamingo is flirty  - in Flirty Flamingo pink!   The flamingo is from the stamp set "Pop of Paradise".   I think it looks pretty stinkin' cute with the Flirty Flamingo color (a 2016-2018 In Color).

Pop of Paradise, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, #stampinbj, #bjpeters, #popofparadiseFor this cutie, I stamped the image in Basic Black archival ink and then did a watercolor wash of Flirty Flamingo ink with my aqua painter.  I layered that on a Flirty Flamingo cardstock layer that has been embossed with the large polka dot embossing folder that has a little added interest with a daub of ink from a dauber on the large dots.

I've also added a strip of the 2016-2018 In Color backgrounds designer series paper stack.  Then I added a few accents with the metallics sequins!   I cheap and easy accent!

What do you think of my Flirty Flamingo?

Love You & the Gift of Love

Gift of Love, layering Squares, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, #bjpeters, #stampinbj, #giftofloveThe Gift of Love is a hostess stamp set in the new 2016-2017 catalog.  If you haven't yet seen the catalog yet, be sure and request one from me!   Once you get it, be sure and check out this hostess set. . .. once you see it, you'll be able to see that this stamp set (at a super reduced fee for hostesses only) is amenable to many different techniques.  In this sample, I used just the stamps in the stamp set to color in the images.

Gift of Love, Layering Squares, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, #stampinbj, #bjpeters, #giftofloveI am also showcasing the Layering Squares framelits.   These framelits come as a set of 15 framelits, some square and some with scallop edges.  If you were to purchase 15 punches, the cost would be significant as compared to the 15 framelits in this set at $35.  The colors are Bermuda Bay, Old Olive and Basic Gray.

The greeting is from the Gift of Love stamp set stamped on a heart punched from the Sweetheart punch.  The finishing touch is a bow with Bermuda Bay Thick Baker's Twine.

Love & Floral Affection

Love & Affection, Floral Affection, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, #stampinbj, #bjpetersHave you seen the Floral Affection textured embossing folders in the new catalog?   (If you don't yet have a catalog, be sure and contact me!).  These embossing folders come as a pair. . . . this one and then one with a floral swag that will frame an object.  But, more with that one later.  Let's check out this beauty first!

  Floral Affection, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, #stampinbj, #bjpetersYou can easily see the outline of this embossing folder because I used Stampin' Write markers to highlight the ridges created by the embossing folder.  Such a unique look!   I used Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz.  I highlighted the center of the flowers with the Gold Wink of Stella.  If you look closely, you can see that I also highlighted the inside of the flowers with the clear wink of stella.  Such a great added touch!

I finished the card off with the Blushing Bride backgrounds designer series paper from the Subtles pack.  The greeting is from the Love & Affection stamp set.  And the finishing touch is the Thick White Baker's Twine bow!  Super cute!

From the Heart Gift of Love

Gift of Love, Sweet & Sassy framelits, Pop of Pink Specialty designer series paper, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, #bjpeters, #stampinbjWhoa!  Check out this beauty!   It's sooooo cute, I don't know where to start!  Seriously, I "love" this card!   Be sure and check out the special way I used the framelits!

Gift of Love, Pop of Pink specialty designer series paper, happy heart embossing folder, stampin' up!, Bj petersIf you look closely, you'll see that I have used the Sweet & Sassy framelits to cut the Whisper White cardstock with the heart framelits and then popped the white layer up on dimensionals.  I filled in the void of the heart with the same size heart cut from the Pop of Pink specialty designer series paper.  The paper I used for the hearts is actually Melon Mambo and White striped.  I colored the white strips with the Basic Black Stampin' Write marker.  The paper I used is also in the background of the card.

The greeting is from the Gift of Love stamp set.  Since it is photopolymer, I placed it on my block with a little curve and punched it out with the duet banner punch.  I finished the card off with a couple of rhinestones and the neutrals sequin pack.

Welcome Pop of Paradise

Pop of paradise, Botanical Garden thinlits, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, Pop of Pink, #stampinbj, #bjpetersCheck out this stunning card inspired by one shown at Stampin' Up!'s recent OnStage event for demonstrators.  I love the pops of color, in fact there is more than 1 "pop" on this card.  Read on to find out more about that!

Pop of paradise, Botanical Garden, Pop of Pink Specialty DSP, #stampinbj, #bjpetersI combined 3 key items on this card;

  • Pop of Paradise stamp set
  • Botanical Builder framelits
  • Pop of Pink specialty designer series paper

The colors I used are;

  • Always Artichoke - 2 largest leaves and Stampin' Write marker on pineapple leaf
  • Old Olive - smallest leaf and leaf cut out image
  • Melon Mambo - flower
  • Delightful Dijon - Stampin' Write marker on pineapple

Pop of paradise, Botanical Builder framelies, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, #stampinbj, #bjpetersI used an aquapainter with Always Artichoke stamp pad and flicked drops of ink on the paper to create some interest.  Check out the interest created by offsetting 2 of the die cut leaf images with the Botanical Builder framelits.

Fear Not

Rose Garden, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, watercoloring, #stampinbj, #bjpeters I love this color combination!  (can you tell if you have been following my blog?)   Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.   And here I have paired it with a favorite saying from the Rose Wonder stamp set.

Rose Garden, Stampin' Up!, BJ Peters, Watercoloring, #stampinbj, #bjpeters

I embossed the greeting in the new Copper embossing powder (a hot trend).   Then I did a watercolor wash with So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo.   I used the Shimmery White cardstock which is a little more porous and thus easier to watercolor on.

I added a strip of Flirty Flamingo backgrounds designer series paper from the 2016-2018 stack.  A classy designer button with a bit of the Flirty Flamingo Ruched Ribbon finishes off the card so beautifully.

Watercolor Wash is a hot trend right now too - and one that I taught in my Watercolor Class.  A class that my customers thoroughly enjoyed!
