When I was growing up in a small town in Minnesota, my parents talked about a man in our small church that had been a prisoner of war during WWII and Korea for 3 years. I saw him as a quiet man who lived by the city park and made jewlery that he gave away and did a lot of gardening. I always respected him. Through Facebook I have been friends with one of his daughters and have marveled at some of the pictures and stories she has written about her father. Her father passed away at the age of 95 last week.
I created this sympathy card to send to his daughter that I am friends with. She is quite artistic so, I wanted a card to match her talents. The Special Reason stamp set bundled with the Stylish Stems framelits seemed to match my needs.
The Old Olive stems and the flowers in Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight sure pop off the Pool Party card. I used the Classic Label punch for the sympathy greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
I also made this card but felt the other one was better. I watercolored Wisteria Wonder on the Wisteria Wonder cardstock under the flower opening to give it a deeper Wisteria Wonder look. I added a ribbon with Perfect Plum solid color Baker's Twine to the greeting.
Which card would you have sent if they were both sympathy cards?
